Started and finished the water pump replacement today, and also replaced the d/s headlamp as well.....

After replacing the pump, I hooked the car up to the Audi and let the battery charge up a bit, then started 'er up! Drove around the block a little to warm up the car and check for leaks - there don't appear any so far. Have to check the anti-freeze level tomorrow.

Ok, I received my parts from Moss this week, so starting tonight, I'll get cracking on replacing the water pump.....







Needed a new headlamp as well....

I ordered a few items last night, from Moss. New water pump, spare gasket, a headlight. Delivery is scheduled for Wednesday of next week, so hopefully I will have everything done sometime next week-end. Really want to get back on the road, as the primo driving weather is here - warm days, cool evenings!

I started the car Thursday night, to take a little drive, and after warming a few minutes, a major-league squeal started coming from the engine! It appears to be either the alternator or the water pump (I am leaning towards the latter). I started to take off the fan belt last night to isolate the cause to one or the other, but got interrupted so will have to try and get that done tonight or tomorrow. I am kind of hoping it's the alternator, as that will be easy to replace, but I really think it's the water pump. I think that can be replaced without removing the engine.
