More Progress (6/4/2007)

Spent about 3 hours working yesterday. I drained the gearbox oil (never knew there was a drain on the transmission!). I also unhooked the driveshaft - which was a pain, since I was working alone, had to undo one bolt, then crawl out from under the car, put the transmission in neutral, crawl back under the car, rotate the driveshaft to expose the next bolt, crawl out from under the car, put the transmission in gear, crawl back under the car, undo the bolt, repeat three more times..... Only banged my head twice! I then unbolted the transmission crossmember and now the transmission is resting on the rear crossmember of the car. Next I have to remove the shift level (unfortunately, the bolts holding the trim ring around the shifter are pretty stripped, so may have to bypass them for now) and the finally the engine mounts and I should be good to remove everything.
