Welcome!

Welcome to my blog for my 1976 MGB! I had been posting entries on a blog I set up for the restoration of my 1965 MGB, but decided to set up a separate blog so I could keep everything separate. I'll be moving all of the entries related to the '76 B over here eventually.

Some background on this car - my wife and I purchased it in April of 1988, when we were living in Delmar, NY (just outside of Albany). We paid $1800 for it. That wasn't a bad deal, as mechanically the car was very sound. However, the body had recently been gone over, and some surface rust removed. Unfortunately, the previous owner did a crappy job and basically just bondoed everything up, including the sills - definitely NOT the right way to do things. The bondo has been working it's way back up to the surface of the car so the body is pretty crappy right now. As is the undercarriage, pretty rusty.

Here are some pictures of how it looked when we purchased it -
