Back on the Road!
Well, the B is back! I ended up sending it to Motorcar Garage in maple Shade, NJ, on August 10. Pete Cosmides, the owner, came and picked it up. After a couple of weeks there, with an adjusted carb, brand-new tires mounted and new front brakes rotors and hoses, it's back in action and running well! I went down to pick it up and drove it the 50+ miles home with no issue, other than a brief shower or two. Great to have it back in house and on the road.
Need to do a couple of things this fall/winter -
1) Straighten the steering wheel - it is a little off-center, probably from when I had removed the rack to replace an engine mount.
2) Front-end bushings - the suspension is pretty loose, so will put some new bushings in the front end.
3) Sloppy shifter - need to tighten up the shift lever a bit.
4) The car now idles so low, that it feels like it is going to die sometimes - but never really does. But I still want to jump it up a bit - right now, it's around 600 rpm and maybe move it up to 900 rpm.
But first, I'm going to drive it a lot this fall!
